My DIY off someone else's design. it'll hold an entire can of Mrs. Wages no problem, and probably 3 gallons of water.

OK, time for a couple of updates. I got a lot of stuff placed, and it all seems happy.
A couple of my current favorites.

Some nice favias
Also, my modded MJ 1200 died. I borrowed a friend's Tunze while my 2 new Koralia 4s were in the mail. i now have 4 Koralia 4s on the tank. The flow is pretty nice. I also picked up a 2 channel dosing pump, and will try to get it set up this week. Demand has gone through the roof, so I need to get it done sooner rather than later.

Phursty , you have some lovely species bud, you really do. Your really showing off your talents and hard work thats for sure.
I mean this with no disrespect, cause you know me , however whats your ultimate plan for this tank bud, speaking to you straight up - I believe your style is lacking due to no set framework of what begins & where it ends.

You know V, that's a very good question, and honestly, I don't know. I wasn't sure where i wanted to go when i set the tank up, having to combine an all zoa tank and an all SPS tank, then i had a boatload of corals given to me that are all over the map. I have traded out some of the non SPS stuff I received for SPS, but it's still kind of a jumble. I think at this point, I'm just going to let everything settle in, then rearrange as necessary, and trade out whatever isn't working for me. It's still going to be, in essence, a mixed reef I guess.

So, it's been a while since I updated this thread. We went on a week long vacation a few weeks ago. Everything went fine while we were away. The night we got back, I checked on the tank, and noticed that the float switch for the ATO was stuck in the "off" position. I tapped the float, and it dropped in place. I went to finish unpacking. What I didn't remember was, I had filled the ATO reservoir with saturated kalk. Yep, you guessed it. 15 gallons of saturated kalk got dumped into the tank. pH shot up well over 9 (as far as I could test). All fish were in obvious distress, laying on the sand, gasping. I hussled out to wal-mart and picked up 4 liters of soda water to help with the pH. After all 4 liters were in, pH was still 8.6. The fish were up off the sand, and, while obviously distressed, seemed to be doing better. Then, I turned the lights off and went to bed. I assume with the lights off, oxygen levels fell, and the fish started dropping like flies. Overnight, I lost my yellow, hippo and scopas tangs, royal gramma, a chromis and ALL of my corals. I did a series of 50 gal water changes, but continued to loose, my female maroon clown and both perc clowns. Then, last Thursday, we had a severe thunderstorm blow through and kill our power for 30 hours. That outage, took out the rest of my chromis, flame angel, mandarin, yellow wrasse and 6-line. All I have left is my male maroon clown and my yellow watchman/pistol shrimp pair. Needless to say, it was devastating. I spent a couple of days seriously considering just tearing everything down. Instead, I decided to take advantage of an empty tank, and have a few friends over to completely redo the aquascape, and start from scratch. So, that's what I did. Unfortunately, the pic doesn't do the aquascape justice. There are a ton of arches and caves, and everything is very open and nice. The tank is going through a cycle right now, so I have moved the maroon and YWG/pistol over to the frag tank and temporarily disconnected it from the rest of the system. I'm going to leave the lights out on the main tank until the cycle is over and nitrates are back down. Once everything is stable, I'll move the fish back over and start restocking.
