protien skimmer drain

I got sick of emptying my cup every day. Mine is held on by 4 nylon screws and wing nuts. I still clean it out but not nearly as much. I wnt to home depot and got an elbow joint and nylon nut and some flex hose. I drilled a hole in the side of the cup and placed the little drain hose assy. in the side below the tube that everything comes in from. The nasty waste drains off to a small bucket that I empty only once a while. It's a whole lot less work than undoing those nylon screws and wingnuts every day! I'll get picts up sometime if anyone wants. works great. hope it helps.

Yeah, these are great mods, protects you some-what as well if the vortex is disrupted & overfills your collection cup.
you could even go to the next level & insert small water injectors into the cup housing hooked up to a timer, self cleaning my friend
