Need opinions from Tang Police...

I got my standard 90g....

How does everyone feel about adding a Yellow Eye Kole Tang?

I would THINK he'd be fine... I don't have many fish....

2- clowns
1- ebili angel

I'd like to add this tang and then maybe 1 wrasse and 1 gobie down the road.

Hello Angelo and to TR. Is that a 48 or 72" tank?

Thanks... I'm a long time user of Reefcentral.com... I had stumbled upon the Talkingreef podcasts on iTunes and figured to sign up over here too

Its a standard 90g... 48" wide, 24" high, 18" deep (front to back).

I was thinking as long as I stick to the Ctenochaetus genus he/she would be fine in my tank.

A tang will not be happy in that tank. You need a 6ft tank atleast to keep a tang. My LFS would say its fine but trust me it wont be.

i also think the tank is to small. the stress would eventually overcome the fish and its immune system.

Alright sounds good... thanks for the input.

I'll stick to my angel as the "big fish" of the tank.

Well that's one of my pet peeves when people have tangs in 30g' s or similar....
But I know the Yellow Eye Kole Tang is kinda on the border of being able to be in a 90g... so I figured to ask first.

I forgot to also welcome you to TR. So welcome!

Sounds like you have a nice setup. Do you have a tank thread or any pics posted? If not, please start one...

BTW: I see you are in Rhode Island. I went to RISD for Architecture '86-'91. I loved Providence as a student. Great town. I had opportunity to explore the East half of RI, from Providence to Little Compton. Great State.

Rhode Island is alright... I've been here my whole life... it's an OK state... not much goes on here, other than going to beaches.
I'm currently in the process of redoing my 90g... I'm finishing up my new canopy and stand this weekend. But once I start putting everything back together I plan on making a "build thread".

My 90g was up and running for about a year... but I didn't put any thought into a bunch of stuff (ATO, plumbing, fuge setup, lighting etc...) so I figured it'd be easier to break it all down and kinda start from scratch.
