I got some really nice encrusting montipora the other day from the LSF. Local is 300 miles away . Anyway I do not know what montipora eating nudibrachs look like. Any one have a picture. I have this coral in my QT tank, and have been watching. It would help if I knew what I was watching for. Any help would be great
The coral is still in my QT tank. And so far I have not seen any of them. I was worried because there were spots of bleaching. Could of happened at the LFS. I will keep watching to be safe.
Ok my two pieces have been in my QT tank for a little over a week. There was some bleaching on the edge of one, which is why I was supect of nutibranchs. It could of been damage from the LFS? The area has no futher bleaching, and I have not spotted any of the nutibranch. I have looked after dark, and on the underside of the coral. My question is... do you think It would be safe to put them in my display tank yet?? Or should I wait another week??
here is how i see it.
you put them in the QT at first sign of problem (good call)
after this you continue to monitor, and at no point have you seen any sign of any pest.
since its been over a week with nothing, i "personally" would think its ok, and the bleaching was likely stress related or something else. although if you want to be safe you could do a FW dip first, or just leave it in there longer

I think I will look real hard again tonight, and if there is none I will be good to go. I would think that if there were any I would see more damage right? I have not seen any nuti's, and everytime I thought I did I removed it and looked under a scope. None found as of yet.
Here's a picture of one of my latest additions. It has colored up quite nice. I took it out of QT last week. I really like it. Does anyone know what kind of Montipora this is?
