ricordia yuma vs florida

Has any one noticed the yuma being more aggressive, or is it just mine? What are some of the known differences between the two? My green yumas get nice and plump, and really spread out nicely, but they like to eat my lettuce slugs. Three times now Ive had to pull a slug from their mouths, lost one slug due to this (he got it twice) and another one is recovering.
The orange/green Florida, on the other hand does nothing. Doesnt plump up or spread out, I rarely/barely see a mouth at all, and though Ive tried to give him bits, Ive never seen it eat anything. Are my observations usual?

i have heard that Yuma is more aggressive than Florida. i have never noticed it in my tank (i keep them seperate) but i have heard it.

In my tank, I am definatly seeing an aggression difference!! My lettuce slugs can get all up in my huge anemone with no troube, one trip accross the yuma and their done for!! No problems with the Florida, EVER.

Differences....

Yumas are from the Indo pacific Florida are native to the Caribbean.

Yumas are thicker in polyp structure and have a hearty "foot" as opposed to the thinner fleshed Floridians with a thin, translucent base structure.

Yumas also have smaller diameter "bumps" (pseudotentacles ) on the polyp (but more populous) and often grow right up to the mouth (single mouth by the way). The Florida polyps have thicker clusters of said pseudotentacles but often the mouth is exposed and there are fewer on the oral cone(s) area if any at all. I say "cones" because Florida Rics often have multiple mouths.

Yuma get larger in size while Florida Rics split after getting somewhat large (after developing multiple oral cone areas). Yuma tend to keep a round shape while Florida's get round, oval, whatever they feel like as they stretch and split.

Yuma tend to take more to spot/supplemental feeding though they do require decent light. Florida rics WILL feed, but aren't the "fishermen" that the Yuma are. Florida Rics typically depend on the photosynthetic side for generation of carbs etc. as fuel. Yuma do so as well, but like a good "steak" once in a while.

If I am target feeding I always baste my floridias. Sometimes they take the food and draw up into a little purse to eat it and other times they ignore it.
