HELP ID these red spots on my mushrooms.....

There are these weird slimey red spots on my mushrooms, they have been on the same mushrooms for a few months now...They appeared out of no where and today I saw that they move..My husband picked one up and rubbed his fingers together and they dissinigrated.....

I think that they somehow are harming my mushrooms, b/c they dont open up even halfas big as they did before the spots....

The last pic that has red spots I know is a bad pic...But those mushrooms are totally dying off...

Thanks

Could they be flatworms that are irritating the mushrooms?

planaria wont really hurt anything, just more unsightly than anything. you could get a six line wrasse to keep them in check, as long as you dont have a mandarin. Or you could try flatworm exit by Salifert. i personally would try the six line first, BUT ONLY IF THERE IS NO MANADRIN.

Keep an eye on the mandarin in the 24. If it won't eat frozen or prepared foods it will decimate the pod population in the tank.

Curious - could I have a 4-line wrasse and a mandarin together?

I had my 6-line and mandarin together for 2 days and they were fine, but it was only 2 days.

Yeah I was told the mandarin ate anything from the guy I bought it from.and I have yet to see that. He does come out when I feed but I never seen him take anything.....I havent seen any copepods for sometime now, Im sure he's eating them which would be fine by me, but I think he's running out..

the mandarin probably is running out of food. the tank is really to small for it to have an unlimited supply of food. the hunt for pods 24/7 and will completely wipe out a pod population within a week or two of starting to eat. once the flatworms are under control (by the six line) i would transfer the mandarin to the bigger tank and the six line to the nano.

The 72g has only been setup for about a month...I upgraded so all of it was old water and sand.the rock was from a 3yr established tank....the only reason we didnt put the mandarin in there is b/c I never seen any pods in there.

I did go ahead and put the 2 wrasses in the 72..Im watching them constantly to make sure there are no conflicts. As soon as the flatworms are gone I will def. take the 6-line back out....Thanks

Maybe until you can get the mandarin over to the big tank you could buy a bottle of pods to supplement the population.
