First post so go easy on me.
I've recently purchased, not here yet, a Ricordea. I've read that these need to be placed away from other soft corals.
How far away, is five inches ok??
i have a lot of ricordea, and i have them all over the tank. some on the sand bed, some midway up, and some in direct MH lighting. i have never heard of them being dangerous to softies, or softies being dangerous to them, but i was say that 5" is more than enough.

I have mine on the sandbed. They don't seem to bother any of my corals either. Ricordias don't have sweepers so I think a couple of inches would be plenty of room.

Carmie-
Are you referring to Ricordia florida or Ricordia yuma? Don't you have a problem with the Ricordia taking on sedimentation if it is directly on the sand bed? Or do you mean, attached to a small piece of LR, which sits on the sand bed?
