Affixing feather duster?

I just got a fountain head duster. I never saw one before. It looks like a coco worm but small like a regular feather duster with a soft tube. I really like it!


My question is how do you attach it to something? I had another feather duster, but it died due to being moved too much. I could never get it to stay in one place (my crab kept knocking him off ledges and pulling it out of holes). Can I glue it?

This has been a common problem for me. All my frags get knocked around and into the sand. I tried crazy glue and cement looking epoxy. The crazy glue never took (do I need to use more?). I was able to epoxy down a few frag rocks, but the came loose... I think the emerald crab is doing this to me The problem may be the crab and not my gluing technique.

try using super glue gell. Both surfaces bust be dry when the glue is applied and then dribble some water over the glue, this helps it set. After a few sec...30 or so...it should be ready to go.

I had the same problem with frags getting knocked down from their perches by a hermit crab. It got to be very irritating to say the least. I use "Holdfast" to secure items in my tank and it works good for me. It reminds me of modeling clay and is very easy and non messy to use. You just pinch of the amount you need and kneed it together until it gets hot and it's ready for use. It sets up in a few minutes and comes in 2 different colors.

Hmm. I never really let any of the stuff I was gluing dry. That may be the problem. I always thought you were not supposed to expose duster worms to air.


The clay worked for me for a while, but I don't think it will work too well with the duster. Too soft and delicate.

I dont know if dusters can be in air...I have never owned one. However you dont want to let living animals dry, just blot the surfaces to be glued dry with a paper towel.
