I have heard that corals are colonies of living creatures that co-operate together and act as a single entity. If this is true, when corals are observed taking in food at certain mouth parts (pulups) does that benefit the entire colony or just the pulup that takes in the food?
yes, in simply put when one polyp eats it will generally benefit the sounding parts of the colony, but this is not true for all coral. some need to be more carefully fed, like a sun coral for instance
