    New hitchikers!?

    Howdy y'all!
My QT (10 Gal) now has about 30 lbs of LR in it and I've got a few stowaways in there. I was hopin' someone could help me identify any thing in these pix. I do believe the snail is a Nassarius?

    Thanks, Tom

From the bottom yes, it looks like a nassarius. The others are vermetid snails. How in the world did you fit 30 lbs of rock in a 10 gallon tank?!?!

Howdy Iron E. ok from what I can see most of what you have are that calcium tubes of flatworm (possibly) and other worms, the forth picture in the set above is a worm, possibly a feather duster. I have hunderds in my tank, I've been told that they are good for filtering your water. my sump is also covered on the walls by these same guys. the bottom picture looks like the arm of a macro star, or possibly the beginings of a new starfish spawned or regenerating from injuries. but with out a better picture I can't really tell.

    hope this helps.

Hey, thanks y'all for the ID's! I've finally lightened the load on the tank. I've got a 10 gallon QT with a 40 gallon sump!!! I know it sounds crazy but it's all temporary and I didn't want to disturb anything just to disturb it all again in a few weeks.

    Tom

Just for grins, here's a pic.

in the second picture those are very small feather-duster's I can't remember exact name but just did a whole study on them a few week's ago completely harmless the snail look's like a whelk snail I would keep it quarantined till you can 100% identify it.

A friend just bought a setup from someone and I got the leftovers. I keep finding more every day! When I get ready to set up my refugium, I'm going to get some live sand from him. It's a regular primordial soup!

Lol Iron, you got it bad too huh? That room is starting to look like mine! The only down size that I find is that one runs out of room and storage places for all of the deals we find.

Found this Brittle star the other day. I didn't think any of them made it through the live rock move.

Does it seem like this Turbo is chasing away the Nassarius?

Good news on the mini star! The turbo could be just trying to clean the nassarius' shell.
