Hello everyone, I recently purchased two Trochus Snails for my JBJ 29 gallon Nano Cube HQI Quaratine Aquarium. But I noticed something on them that I have not seen or neglected to notice on any other snail I have own. Have anyone seen this before. I'm assuming its a normal extenion from their bodies to react to stimuli from the surrounding environment.

They are, in fact, sensory tentacles. They are prominent in lower level mollusks. There's some good stuff about snails in one of the reefkeeping mags. Lemme dig it out.

Looks like a nice one. I'm just about to pick up some Trochus, perhaps a dozen. I did some google searches, but I have not seen another picture with these sensory tentacles exposed. Neat.
It is hard to find Trochus and Cerith snails at local LFS in Los Angeles. I keep running into the far more useless bumblebees and the less temperate margaritas, and the "help me - I have fallen and I can't get up" Astraea snails. Other than Nassarius, I may have to mail order all my other snails.
