Unknown invert (worm?)

Ok, been a long time since I've been here. But had to pick those wonderful brains...

Was looking in a corner of my tank tonight under a group of rocks and noticed some interesting critters on the glass. At first I thought they were large flatworms, but then when my light hit them just right there was a hint of florescent green around the body...plus all those tentacles.

Hopefully the photo attaches, the top one you can get an idea of the size as there is a flatworm to the left of the unknown critter. The bottom two shots are of another one. I think I noticed around 6 or so in the same general area.

Would love to see what you all come up with.

Scott

Hi Scott,

It has been so long since you've been around that I thought you had gotten frozen the last time you went ice diving!

Hi Phurst,

Thanks for the link. I've seen the hydroid jellyfish (based on the photo's in the link) being blown around in the tank before. Maybe what I have is an older (adult) version of them...or something else. But from looking at all those photo's...it has to be some sort of Jelly.

Thanks.

Hi Carmie,

Been real busy with work, haven't even been able to get a lot of diving in this summer either...I think all I've gotten is just over 30 dives in. At least I'll be in the pool this winter, working on my Divemaster rating. And when the ice diving comes around this year...I'll be a little warmer in my dry suit.

Another reason for my scarce appearance is my tank. I'm ashamed to admit but I still have that dog on hair algae problem, everything I've tried just does not make it stay gone...aways seems to come back. Granted my Clown fish love it, they will get right into it like an anemone (which is funny, but actually sad). The fish are doing well. Same with my cleaner shrimp, must have reached maturity as when it molts now it always has eggs. Started a few months ago...first time all the fish went nuts and I couldn't figure out why they were picking on my cleaner shrimp all of a sudden...they found if they got the cleaner moving quickly it would dislodge some eggs...and they would have a yummy treat. I've also seen my clowns lay eggs twice, which was pretty cool.

Gotta get going to work, talk to you later.

Scott

Yep....your pictures are of the nasty glass anemone... the one I posted is not. If you look at my piccy..and the original posted, the tips have bulbs on em... AND.. there is a sort of calcerous cup/skeleton beneath the beast.

Dave

PS... sorry so late in response.. been off the wall busy.
