Question whats new and whats not

I really thought that after some time, I would be able to figure out which posts went to "new posts" and which dont, and why. Didnt happen
What is the criteria? I ask because sometimes I am not sure where my posts/threads can be seen. Sometimes they are under new posts, other times I have to search a thread. Then there is the scenario of replying to an old thread, that will not show up under "new posts", but will be seen by someone who subscribed to that thread prev> WOW, am I making any sense?? Reasons for question... Wanting exposure to important (IMO) questions, though they may have been tagged on an old post. Knowing where to look... If a thread is going to be included in "new posts"or searched on a forum. I replied to a worm thread that was old. I replied because that thread had pics of my problem. One person found it, and I am not sure how. I guess he must have been emailed that there was a response to that thread.
Im not even sure I made sense to myself!! I'll bet you can give me an answer!
Laura

LOL, it can be kinda confusing

Anytime a new post is made, be it a new thread, or a reply to an existing thread, it gets bumped into the new posts page. If YOU made the post or thread, you will not see it in New Posts, because you've already seen it. For example, if you go to New Posts, and open something listed there, and then refresh the new posts list, the thread you just looked at will no longer be amongst the new posts, because you read it. So, if you find an old thread and post to it, everyone who is subscribed to that thread will get an email saying there is a new post, AND it will get put back into the New Posts list for everyone but you.

Make sense?

You're definitely not retarded. It can be confusing. It took me awhile to figure out why I couldn't "see" my tank thread when "I" posted but, then when someone else posted, bingo, there it was.

In your "user CP" have you requested instant e-mail notification of posts in subscribed threads?

It was confusing. I wasnt sure why sometimes I had to go into the particular forum to find a thread, and sometimes it was there, under new posts. It makes much more sense now

BTW Dick, colt is much less 'lumpy"!

Great Explination.

As explained .. New Posts will show posts/threads that are "new" to you.. all posts/threads you have not read yet
