At work

I am not on the site that often because I do most of my surfing at work. But at work we are behind a proxy, and they don't let me visiit the site because something about mp3's or forums. They are some sites that I am able to visit like reefcentral. So do you think this is something that could be fix from your end, that we could bypass this filtering?

Maybe they, your employer, are trying to get some work out of you since you are, technically, at work???

LOL!

I work in IT for a living, and am involved with our surfing filters. There's nothing that can be done on this end, as your company or ISP maintains the blacklist.

My work doesn't let you see YouTube vidoes but you can see Windows Media videos all you want. Go figure.

it comes down to who you know, not what you know in the world of restricted internet @ work.

aarrr like a shootout in the old west armed with a memory stick, unrestricted temporary proxy cut & pastes work everytime, you just need 3 min at the terminal where someone does have the unrestricted access & your laughing, well not really, cause your on a stealth mission & laughing will give away your possition.. or do what i do,make a business case, or make a few friends within corporate helpdesk.lol

actually depending on the proxy/firewall that is being employed there is a very good change you can bypass it all using TOR network. this is a free open source private proxy system that hides your network traffic. so the filters never see the real source/desitnation

details on the open source version can be found here
Tor: anonymity online

there are of course speed issues since its routing you all over the place, but it still works.

now what i use is this product
http://www.ironkey.com
http://www.ironkey.com/demo

part of the product includes a private TOR service, one thats owned and managed by this company reducing MANY of the speed and security issues that come with the public TOR networks.

either way, the TOR will get you past almost any type of we security filter (yes i work in IT too.. )

Nat_RH is an unknown quantity at this point
I love the Ironkey...have about 20 of them for folks at my workplace.

However, I prefer SSH tunneling for security and bypassing these type proxies.

Lots of good information on the net.

Good luck!

This is presuming that you can actually download something to your own computer at work.
