Thumbs up Change is good.....

Even though I was one of the ones that voted to keep the old site look......
This one looks more professional and once you get all the tweaks worked out, it looks like it will be easier for you.
Sounds like we need to get a "Picture Software Fund drive" to help you out!!

Speaking of which, what do you do for your "day job" Rob? I think the website founder should have his bio somewhere. I mean I see systems engineer, but more of a bio would be worthwhile for somebody who had the ability and energy to get this whole thing rolling. Or are ya just too humble?

In fact, what does everybody do, I mean more than a title? It would be kind of Interesting thread maybe.

Anyway, love the new look, you really do an incredible job for a one person staff.

thanks you i appreciate the comemnts and the praises.
i had no idea how much work this site was going to be..
i have spend almost every waking minute for the last 5 days fryign to get this far. its a lot to learn, the system is VERY different than the other one. it is far more flexible, but with that comes more details to learn. Travis from ReefSanctuary has spent alot of time helping me get things together, it woudl have easily taken me a week or two longer without him...

as for the bios, thats a good idea. Infact with the new system i can just add that field to each persons profile, and then people can fill it out as they want.

As for me, i am a IT Infrastructure Architect for the worlds largest IT consulting company (with out naming the actualy name of the company)

I work in car rental for one of the larger companies.
I should prolly get another job, but this one is easy and allows for plenty of web surfing time.
My 4 year degree in IS hasn't been used yet... oh well...

What about you Mike?

Ah well, nothing too fabulous for me. I am called a Senior Engineering Analyst or a Logistician. I mostly control Engineering functions supporting all navy valves on air craft carriers and submarines. A lot of procurement and design changes, since we are the only company in the USA that can build air craft carriers and only one other company builds submarines, it's kind of a monopoly.
Married, with two grown kids 23 and 21.....I'm 47.
And I love golf.......and fish.
:-)

I operate those valves.

Actually I don't. I'm on a cruiser, not a carrier or sub.

I have almost 20 years in the Navy. In fact I retire in 3 months.

Sloppygolf you must be very close by.

Congrats on retirement Jim!! Got any "must do" things planned?

My dad flew in the navy when I was really young- some of the places we were stationed are: Brunswick, ME *born here*; the Azores; Bermuda; and Corpus Christi, TX. I don't remember much though.

I am a cnc machinist/ programmer. I actually just started a new job about a month ago with a company that does a lot of work for Boeing & Northrop Gruman. Pretty interesting working on LARGE parts for the first time in my career. I am currently working on a seal for a nuclear submarine program

I'm a neuroscientist doing research in Sweden. It actually sound like a lot more than it is. I spend most of my time drying my eyes out while staring through microscopes. The rest of it I spend writing grants trying to get money to fund my research! Argh!!! Which is actually what I should be doing right now instead of browsing the forum.....
okay....I'm going to get back to my grant-writing now. If you see me browsing any more today, could you please slap me??

Cheers,
Christi

Things that I must do?

Get a job that pays well enough to support my reef hobby/addiction.
