    KAN's 120G

    Hi everyone

I'm back and this time I'm going big.

Now that I'm back on my feet and had time to think about everything I diced to go with a big tank and just happen to find a good deal on eBay. I have been doing my remodeling all summer long and just about done. So it's just about time to start the tank. I'll post some pics when I take them.

well since I have time to make a post now.
Here is what I have for the tank all ready:
    Skimmer - Red Sea C-Skim 1200
    160lb of aragonite sand
    260w light
30g - was thinking on using it as QT tank
    20g - sump
    10g - sump
    5g - water top off

The 120g is a 48x24x25, back and sides painted black, drilled for 2 - 1.5" drains in the corner, 1" return in the middle, and came with all the balk heads and small pluming for the tank.

I haven't had to much time to think about the stand yet but was think in putting all the tanks in one big stand and have the QT setup so I could run it by it's self or with the others. I had a good Idea that when I make it so I can see the 5g top off so I would no If i need to fill it up. I'm going to have RO/DI water go to the stand but have a shut off valve on it so I don't have to worry about it getting stuck open and overflow.

wow it's been this long since I got this tank.
Well here's whats been going on. I got the wall to my room moved. Since I didn't want the tank near a door that goes outside. The stand made for what it's going to be for now. My dad wanted me to go more over kill on the stand then I did. So here's what it looks like now.

I got more rock coming soon and going out on Thursday to get the PVC pieces I need to get the sump setup. But mostly at the point were I just let the tank do it's thing. Then I can get a few fish so I'll start looking at it.

Ya. So excited that a bulkhead was leaky. Then found out it wasn't no good and had to drain the water back down till I get a new one this week. Good thing I planned if this happened I left myself some room to work the whole way around the tank.

It's exciting to get the tank wet! That stinks though about the bulkhead leaking.

Well got the new bulkhead in. Now to let everything setup over nite. Then get it all hoked backup. It shouldn't leak this time.

I think the bulkhead was bad from the last owner. Since that was the only one that came with the tank and was on it. Just like when my friend help me put the tank on the stand he didn't think it looked glued. So he gave it a turn and pulled it off. I tried to do that and it didn't come off for me.

I think that makes it even more frustrating. But at least now you know it is done right!
