Just found a brittle star in my tank and wondering if they are good or bad. It is white with black stripes, and has a black head(the thing in the middle). its got bristle things so i'm assuming its a brittle star. Its probably a bit a bit bigger than a thumb nail.

agreed...definitely a keeper.
what you have there is what is referred to as a "micro-brittle", and will grow to about the size of a nickel, give or take. they're excellent detritus and suspended particle feeders, and will reproduce in your tank.
