I recently purchased a nice baby Maxima for my 67 gallon tank. The main reason for my setting up this 2nd tank was to keep clams and a few SPS, a couple fish etc. The tank itself is 48 inches long by 18 inches deep and 18 inches wide and it has 2- 250 watt MH lamps above so I should have plenty of light given it's a shallow tank.
When I first received the Max... I did set it in the sand bed with a 1/2 shell under it. It attached it's bissal to the 1/2 shell and I then placed it up in the rockwork. That was the instructions I received. but now I'm worried that the crabs, clean up crew, water current, whatever might know the shell off and injure the baby.
My question is, would it be wise to glue the shell to the rockwork? There shouldn't be a problem with this should there?
Thank you~
