    Sea Star Identification Help

A friend has asked me to help her ID a Sea Star her daughter found lying on the beach. They were on the Gulf of Mexico. The closest I could come was the common sand sifting sea star, but the markings are not wuite right as is the curl of the spines. Any help in Identifying this sea star is greatly appreciated.

Cool looking star. I too have no clue what it is but it does look kind of like a sand shifting star.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.

Hello Jeffery and to TR. I have not seen a star with those makings either.

Hello RO25 and to TR. The star has beautiful markings, but I too am baffled as to what it is. Perhaps a google search for sea life from that body of water will provide some answers to your questions. Let us know when you find out.
