I dont know anything about this skimmer.. but a good place to start is adjusting any valves that it has, or try raising or lowering the water level where the skimmer is (put something under it to make it higher..

I'm not to sure about a lot of tweaking to be done to it because I'm not familiar with that type of skimmer but, I would try to adjust the bubble rate up higher to get more so that way it may go up into the collection cup. That's probably your problem.

hmmm that's weird I would take it back to the store and see if you could get another one. But I would wait to see what someone else says first.

If you have a new system, or a very light load, maybe there just isn't anything to skim out.

the tanks been up and running just about a year. 29 gallon oceanic biocube. around a 3 inch sandbed or so. 45 lbs of live rock I believe. Ive had some snails and hermits in there the whole time. Around a month ago or something like that I added 11 coral frags. And ive just added two shrimp and two fish yesterday.

Also have a chiller and a fluval fx5 canister filter that holds about 4 gallons or so of water too.
