    Talking starfish

awhile back at least 1 month ago my starfish an orange linckia had died after talking to an
expert 40+ marine biologist (amphibious) from the talking reef I was informed that due to its age it died normally.
my question now is when a starfish dies does it release any spores to create new starfish
I have noticed recently mostly at night when the blue moon lights are on I find very small
about less than an 1/8 of an inch small 5 point white from looking into the glass tank
they look like starefish and their grazing on the alge on the front glass and I find them in different positions on the glass so I know their moving
is it possible when the starfish died they spawned from it .I havent been cleaning the front glass
because there feeding there is more than one some only have three legssome have four and atleast one has five

They're asternia stars. Most people have them, weather they see them or not. Sometimes they get a bad rap for possibly eating corals, but I don't believe anyone has any convincing evidence they do. The one problem they CAN present is overpopulation. They can increase to alarmingly large populations sometimes. Unless you have tons and tons of them, just let them chow down on algae.

There is no elevator to success in marine tanks. You have to take the stairs.
