all i really know about them is that they take time ( like everything else in reefing)
After listening to the podcast on copepods, very impressive and informational, BTW, I have a few questions. I have recently been working on culturing copepods, wish I could say what species, it is very difficult to find information on these little critters, best I can tell they are a type of calanoid. I am able to maintain them in cuture vessles, but cannot seem to increase populations. I started this because they seem to be the prefered food item of a tiny mysid shrimp I am also attempting to culture. On, a different subject altogether, is what species of copepod would be most suitable as the initial food for clownfish larvae instead of rotifers?...Yes, yet another project. There are few places that sell pods, but there is little to no information on what species they are selling, the size of the animals, etc. Anyone have any tips or tricks for producing large quantities of pods? Thanks!

I had sent an email to Adeladie after watching the podcast, but never recieved a reply, so thought I would try here and see if anyone has had any success with this. Ocean Pods sells a culture of three types of pods, but does't say what kind they are. Definately a very new and obscure aspect of the hobby! Like I mentioned I've spent hours scouring the net and have come up with very little information on the captive care and culturing of these tiny ceatures.
Get your hands on some Tisbe sp copepods. These are one of the popular ones that reproduce well in reef temperatures. I don't know how you would go about culturing something you weren't told specifically what is was.... their requirements are so different.

Adelaide is very busy and in fact may have a student watching her web site, e-mail and such. I've simply ordered from her before and that gets a quick response.
