    Anemone

I have been thinking about eventually getting a bubble tip. What do people think of keeping a bubble in a mainly sps tank? Do bubbles tend to move often or only when unhappy? When they move will they kill any sps they touch? Do bubbles come in many colors? I have seen red/green/brown, others?

    thanks

    I have a rose BTA.

It is certainly the centerpiece of my tank but IME it does tend to move. It will stay in the same place for months and then just up and go walkabout. About 3 weeks ago it took a circuit of the tank and 2 days later ended up where it moved from. It will sting corals and has knocked frags down.

It was orange when I first got it but now it is darker. It was also the sixe of a baseball and is now bigger than a dinner plate!

They do tend to explore when the notion hits them.

Mine took a ride through the overflow into the sump - was just fine.

It got in a power head and split itself - it was just fine.

Now they just really do whatever they please - it has gotten right up on corals but doesn't seen to bother them.

I really enjoy my RBTA seen below. I got it at a frag auction for $45 (a bargain) about six months ago. It split on it's own about one month ago.

I did have an incident with a coral in the beginning. The RBTA would expand and touch a coral (can't remember which coral unfortunately). It wasn't the coral that received damage but the RBTA was stung and 6 or 7 tentacles of the RBTA shriveled up to nothing and that side of the RBTA looked severely damaged. I moved the coral and the area healed over time.

You can see in the picture it is close to the purple Acro and sometimes touches it without incident to either. So, when you get your anemone, a couple of things to remember.

They will settle where they want to and keep an eye out for warfare between it and corals. Move the corals accordingly.
