SantaMonica your tank looks great!
PJ, I like how you redid your tank. The rics really show the clam off beautifully!

Nice phurst...I dont think you have anymore room..lol. Question: I have a 5" Dresea andhe is currently in my sandbed...if I wanna get him higher in the tank..can I put him in a nook..or does his foot have to be on solid rock?
LARRY!!!!
Here is my current FTS
I think a nook might inhibit its opening and closing. I'd put it on a flat surface.

I wish we could just pick up all of our tanks and put them in the IX Center (remember that place CJ) and just stare.
LARRY!!!!
That would be something to see!

Got a freebie Clown from my LFS...Carmie thinks it may be an Amphiprion akindynos...since there are all these experienced reefers on this thread, can I get a second or a third? And how do you guys size your pic bigger???Mine is always small!!

not to hijack, but in response:
like T. squamosa, T. gigas, and H. hippopus, T. derasa is found on the substrate in the wild. these clams rely on they sheer size and weight to keep them in place. in fact, they generally won't even secrete any byssal threads like the rockdwellers T. crocea and T. maxima do. additionally, they are lower-light clams, and one conceivably light shock them with too much light.
i would keep it on the substrate, especially since you've been having some troubles with it.
to the thead subject:
100 gal acrylic volitans/Rhinopias tank:
60 gal former volitans/Rhinopias tank (now home to several smaller scorps):
50 gal acrylic pentagon SH tank:
split acrylic 40 gal ghoul/Rhinopias tank (Rhino will be moved to the 100 gal):
not sure we have FTS of any of the remaining 9 tanx...
