Hi - here is a link to a chart that gives you a start to finding tank mates.
Marine Compatability Chart
After looking it over I would spend a great deal of time researching.
Your purple tang will be aggressive with anything you put in the tank at first. Most tangs - not all - have the "top dog" syndrome which means that anything that comes after them is going to be picked on. Some do a little picking and then leave the fish alone and others will continue until the new fish is dead.
I have a blue hippo before introducing a yellow tang. All was fine until I had to pull the blue hippo for ich, when she was put back the yellow decided it was dominate since the blue had been out of the tank. The yellow was then removed for a few hours - I moved some rock and when she was put back she was okay. She will go after new mates no matter what type of fish.
Whatever you decide on after research just keep a close watch to make sure "Purple Boy" is not stalking.
Keep algae in the tank all the time so he is full.
Hope this helps.
