whats your phosphate levels.
All my base rock seem to be covered by a bright green algae. Is this a pre-cursor to Coraline Algae? All my levels are still good. Bright green seems to be just a dusting. I do have some purple coraline algae on the live rock.

Nothing to be too concerned about in my opinion. Just a new tank thing.
And its not hairy, right?
How long has the tank been up for? If its a new tank, I wouldn't worry, but if it is established- you may wanna look into why its happening.
The tank is 2 months old.

you have a skimmer and are you using RODI water?
I am using a Aquac ev-120 Skimmer, and yes to the RO/DI water.
Tank is 125g

Algae is a bright sorta Lime green color. Just seems like a dusting all over the rock. I am getting some purple coraline algae on the rock also. Seems to have started to cover the green stuff a little at a time.
Tom
sounds like you will be ok then! I wouldn't worry about it.
Yes, what you are seeing is a type of green film algae. It's the same type you get on the glass of the tank. It can appear on rocks, powerheads, heaters, pretty much anything.
Most people clean the viewing panes of their tanks with a scraper of sorts. In the areas you can't or don't reach, this film algae will begin to become harder and harder to scrape. It then is replaced/displaced with a green form of calcerous algae. That in turn will begin to marble and you will see pink, red or purple mixed in. It could stay "mixed" but often will turn one color...red to purple red. Voila.. Coralline algae.
Keep up with good water circulation and quality to help this algae win out over the hair algae, cyanobacteria etc. and you'll be happy in the end.
