I found the fix. Just pointed my powerhead upwards and agitated the water surface and it was gone in an hour. Thanks guys.

It's waxes, oils, proteins AKA scum Pointing the powerhead toward the surface is exactly what the doctor ordered. You can have dead spots on the surface of the water too and cause oil slicks. Rearranging the powerheads or just forcing one up to make a chop, breaks up the slick so can be taken in through the overflow box, skimmer etc.

was it on the surface or on the glass? I had the same problem with my tank (on the surface) and once i agitated the water with a PH it was gone for good
