Hi From England UK i got a Question.

I have been comparing prices over the internet and using exchange rates to see how much fish cost over the pond to where i am and ive noticed quite a difference in price. Has any of you noticed this too?

I'm not sure what livestock prices are line in the UK, or even where to look to compare them, but if you are looking at online retailers here in the US, their prices are NOT representative of what we see in our LFSs. I would bet that the current strength of the euro, and relative weakness of the dollar may have something to do with it as well.

What kind of prices are y'all paying over there?

    Hi espocrespo and to TR.

I haven't ever compared prices but I do believe that the euro dollar relationship must have some effect.

Personally speaking as a retail business owner, businesses in the UK have told me that when I order merchandise to figure twice the amount conversion from US currency as it is falling rapidly. I forgo the extra in country tax, but then have to pay a very large shipping and handling bill. I personally think that if you go with a local in house business, or a very large business that turns over in volume, you will get a far better deal. Most legit businesses who order larger quanities in turn pass on the savings to their customers which in turn move more inventory. The gas prices are hurting the world over and forcing businesses to add an extra percentage to cover expenses. All this equates to a larger final bill for the consumer at large no matter where they reside.

I am thankful that the US forgos the VAT tax when ordering from abroad.
