I read your other thread. My first thought is flow, but if they're directly below the MH, it could just as easily be light. Chalices don't need super intense light.
I'm having problems with my chalice corals starting to lose their "skin". It starts by a small area where the skeleton is starting to show through, then the area slowly grows...
I'm thinking it's either to high of flow or to much light. I'm started a thread questioning my light height. I've change the flow going across the chalices. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and what they learned.
Thanks,
Paul
This is a much nicer chalice than it looks under the camera flash. It's a really nice rose color.

Thanks Phurst. It's getting fragged today......
Hate to do it, it was a really nice colony...
When chalice start losing tissue, there's usually no turning back, IME. Fortunately, it takes to a dremel pretty well. Echinophyllia has been touchier than most in my shop, and the prettier the piece, the longer it's taken to bounce back, but maybe that's just Murphy.
I am curious how it is doing after being frag'd. Have the 7 been doing ok? Pics?

I lost 2 and had to cut more off of 3.
So I have 5 frags I'm sitting on to see how they do.
I'll get some pics.
