    Emergency!!!!!!!

My female erectus is lying down on her side on the bottom of the tank. She's still breathing but isnt moving.

She's less than a year old, gets fed, water quality is fine, and her mate is fine as well.

What can i do???? I care about these horses so much, i have a full medicine cabinet and a quarantine tank up and ready if needed.

none whatsoever. I mean, the tank has all the best equipment. i do a 5gal water change every 1-2 weeks. The pH is 8.3, nitrates are zero. Fed the best diet, everything was right, she just died.

I have her in the fridge, i really need to know how to go about sending her off for a necropsy asap. I dont want her to start decomposing. Can anyone help me? renee must be busy.

Now I feel bad. Sorry sweetie, as I said in my PM I've been really tied up in a project for Seahorse.Org and I've been MIA lately. Hopefully just a few more weeks and I'll be done.

The pathologist who use to do the necropsies is no longer able to perform them. His hospital was sold and with it went his ability to do necropsies on the side. For anyone, for future reference, if a fish dies and you want to keep it in the best condition for a necropsy, put it in a baggie without water the day that it dies and mail it using overnight shipping the following day at the latest. If you can get it out the same day.... even better.

Sorry to hear about your horse.
    Renee
