i actually just ordered 2 myself and i also got Maxi-jet 600s
you can use a smaller pump but i trust the maxi-jets much more than the others

If oyu are not daisy chaining carbon or purigen adn phosphate remover, use a maxi-jet 400. You can always turn down a bigger pump with the valve, but a 400 should suffice. On my 156g I am using a maxi-jet 1200 daisy chained and turned down a bit - seems to be working great.
I also use Phosban...

thank you for the replies i have had so far. so i should be needing a pump that puts out 100 to 150 gal. per hour? also the reactor i bought did not come with the ball valves or hoses. can i use any 1/2 inch ball valve from like home depot? that is were i plan on getting the tubes i need for it. again thank you all for your suggestions.....
Sure, it's just regular tubing.
