Oh my God!!! WOW, you guys rock my heart!!! How do I begin to reply to this outpouring of love, affection and caring? Oh I've got an idea.....I'll just soak it all in. Thanks everyone, from my heart!!!

    Gwenn,

And hugs don't need new equipment,
    Special batteries or parts -
    Just open up your arms
    And open up your hearts.
Thank you!!! That poem meant alot to me as did the little love sign you sent.

    veriann,
You have such a sense of humor. Does that come from living upside down?

    DJGonzo69,
    Things are improving, thanks.

    kj_yoda,
    Thanks!!!

    CarmieJo,
Thank you, a lot has happened.

    fat walrus,
    Thanks!

    Fishworld,
hi, how long have you been on this reef from begining till now? have you been doing it for 6 months or what because man its brilliant!
Thank you! This reef was set to water around March 5, 06. However, I've been into aquariums for 58 years and strictly saltwater for 30 plus years. I'm still learning. Every tank I set up teachs me something. Reefing is a life long learning process because the only constant is change.

Guys and girls, I was going to update this thread tonight but, I've changed my mind. I've been sitting at this computer programing in the new PFO lighting system for at least two days straight from early to late. I'll try it tomorrow.

Here's the link to that thread - http://www.talkingreef.com/forums/sh...highlight=IMAC

Yeah, Dick's keeping himself young with all this new and modern technology! And aren't we lucky that we get to learn from him?!

You guys/girls are something else!!! I love this place!!!

I've had my hands full with things besides the programing. I picked up a 48 hour bug that knocked me on my BUTT. Thank God that's over.

    Christi,
This new technology here on TR is confusing me a bit. First I get pop up messages from you and others. That happened while I was gone, I guess. Tonight I find voice messages available. What's next streaming video of our reef tanks? Hmm, that sounds pretty cool. You're in the States aren't you? Hope you are having a great time. Give Hannah a hug from me.

I'm not sure if any of you know this but my wife is a nurse and works three part time jobs so having time with her is rare. I had today and will have tomorrow with her then it's back to the rat race for her for the next three or four weeks. She loves her jobs but sometimes she goes in at 2:00pm and works through to 7am the next day, comes home crashes and goes in again at 2:00 pm to 11pm. She's had two of those 16 hour shifts this week. What I'm trying to say is I love her dearly, cherish our time together and when possible give her all my attention.

Thanks again, you guys are so great.

It's Gotta Get Ugly Before It Get's Beautiful!!! Time for an update.

    Everyone,

I find it just too easy to procrastinate! Yes, Eric, something happened to my tank. While I was off playing in Canada, my wife was fighting temperature swings in the tank from about 77 F to 84 F daily. Plus we had a power outage and when the power came back on my UV Sterilizer line became air-bound and didn't circulate. I had been experiencing a slight outbreak of ICH before I left. Thought that was OK but with the temp swings it wasn't. Lost the PB, Sohal, Achilles and the French Angel. BOO HOO!!! They were getting along fabulously, too!

The Clown Goby lived through the whole thing........

On the brighter side, I dwelled on the ugly side long enough, the tank is looking good......

    My corals are doing great....

This one is Favia speciousa, limited edition from Steve Tyree. It came in as not much more than one polyp.

This is Acropora loisetta from Steve, and is growing nicely.

This is Montipora undata from Steve. Great color! It's referred to as Idaho grape. Must be a story behind that. I'm familiar with Idaho potatoes but not Idaho grapes.

I tried to post another pic but, ROB's got the limit set at six. Interesting thing about that is I only have five posted above (count them, Rob) and the next one was six but it wouldn't take it trying to convince me that it was actually number seven.

Jeese, I tried to put two signs in here and it wouldn't let me do that either. Loosen up the tight rope will you Rob? I can't even put a smiley face here to let you know I'm just kidding. :>) There that worked. I'm lying on my side smiling at you Rob!

    Oh well the Admin rules!!!

Now I get it smileys count toward the six image limit. Who said you can't control an old dog. More to come at another time.

    Dick

    PS. Hi Gwen. :>)

    Thanks Christi,

I was just giving Rob a hard time. I have a page on my web site for pics going on the forums.

How's the visit to America going? Where are you? Is Hannah enjoying the trip? Has she asked about Disney World? Good thing she doesn't have her own e-mail account or I'd be prompting her to ask, beg, cajole you into bring her here.

A few more pics trying to catch up keeping you informed.

First, a branching hammer coral I bought in Chicago at IMAC in April. It was pretty neat with 7 heads. All looked good. But after getting it home, one by one the coral tissue began to turn to brown jelly. I'd never experienced this before and it took out five of the seven heads before it stopped. Here's a pic taken today showing two remaining healthy heads.

It's been three weeks since I last experienced the loss of a head. Most interesting about this story is I noticed new growth on the dead heads a week ago. I couldn't get a good picture until today because of the small size of the polyps. Here's the pic from today......

I found a total of four new growths like these. The other two are under one of the healthy heads. Reefing holds more surprises than a new bride.

The Branching Daisey Coral is becoming one of my favs. It's quite showy.

    Red Blasto's doing nicely.

Blue zoos have done well, too.

    Water parameters tonight are:

Ammonia - .25 After the cycle completed, this test kit (Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) has always read .25 Ammonia. (???)
    NO2 - 0
    NO3 - 0
    Calc - 400
    Alk - 8
    PH - 8.5

Things are looking good. I'm ready to add a fish or two again.

Hope things are going as well for you.

Wow- great pics, nice to see everything going so well.

    Blue zoas -

I had the same thing happen to my branching hammer- I think it had 6 polyps went I bought it and 3 died and the other 3 did fine and I've given away many frags since. I never got the regrowth like you are getting- great sign!

Thanks, Gwenn. Yeah, I love those blues!

It will be interesting to see if the buds do anything. I'm expecting them to grow out, although, plate corals will form buds on dead plates and drop off. I know of a guy that, over several years had hundreds from a single dead plate coral. He sold the small ones at the size of a silver dollar for $20 a head. Made a bit of money doing that.
