New Tank Cycling Question

Hi,

My tank has been cycling now for 1.5 weeks, the Amonia is down to 0 but the Nitrite is at 4.0. Brown diaotoms have now covered most of the rock and Green algae is growing.

Now green Algie has started to bloom on the glass, shoud I clean it off as it comes or leave it for later when we start to add critters when the nitrates have dropped to 0 ?

You can clean it offf for the time being until you add critters cause there will be more algae.

I agree that you can clean it off. You can start to add a clean up crew after nitrites are at 0 but before your nitrates are zero.
