it should be ok, however its hard to tell from the image, is the torn part already dead or looking sickly?
if you have it in a good place it should simply re attach to a rock
while braking a pice of LR rubble which had two frags of Devils Hand on it one of the leathers tore up the stalk.
1 is this going to be a problem for the leather?
2 should I cut it off? if so should I fallow the stalk so there are polyps on the new frag?

It doesn't look sickly, it seems ok. the LR under the stalk broke tearing the stalk up the center. now there are two stalks each on LR which come together at the just at the tip of the stalk. it looks good for now ( other than being ticked off)
i havnt heard or seen this coral until now. thanx! any good image of its polyps open? i wanna see
Not yet, it was looking great till i $%^&$# it off.
I'll post some when it reopens
I love these corals, I have two different colors in my tank right now. If i was put into your situation i would probably just try and get the separated stocks together as close as possible and they might form back together with some time. However, Leather are not the easiest to get stuck after fragging but with the fragger in me i would think about separating it into two peaces. But i dont know the actually size of it so i would hate to suggest that and the end product would be the size of a dime. But good luck with it i would say it will be fine in some time.

Here is a new pic .

i did the same thing with mine but i pulled the whole thing off. i sold the mother when it healed up and still have the little frag it has almost doubled in size. its been about 2 months and its going good. its about the size of a grape
look like a toadstool to me.. i guess all leather look somewhat similar to each other
