    snail cobwebs?

I dont know what this snail is, I think my lfs gave one that I didnt want. Well anyway where I had put the snail when I first got it is where it pretty much stayed for the whole week. Tonight I look in and there is like a cobweb mucas type stuff coming from it. It's still alive and it's extending from its shell. Does anyone know?

Vermettid snails will do this. This is how they "Fish" for food. Other tube type snails do this as well. Some of them actually have fleshy appendages, while others spin a web of mucous.
