    macro and PH

I was wondering how PH and macroalgea with a light source work? When the lights are on in my sump/refugium my chaeto is doing photosynthesis. Now is that also going to raise my PH? Or is that when the lights are off?

when your lights are on in your display the coral respiration from photosynthesis maintains the PH, then when the lights in the display go out, the PH tends to drop slightly, this is why people then have the fuge lights kick on at night, so the respiration from the macro during photosynthesis can help keep the PH stable during the night
