    black snail at night

i have this question for a long time now and i keep forgetting to ask. during my night watch, i always see these snails (maybe i should take a pix) which has a slimy body wt a lil shell on top. its black, sometimes dark brown. do u guys have it? i talk to the guy at LFS and he said he have them too and they are good for cleaning. he also said they are hitchhikers, the good one...

any1 wanna give me some opinion? thanx!

Stomatella is my guess as well....with your having said it was dark, black to brown, it may not be one of the common varieties that I get (typically light to green color) but an impertusa or other variety.

    yeppers...sounds like Stomatella.

to answer your question, they're fine. a great part of your cleanup crew, and they'll probably reproduce for you as well.

very good... they LOVE film algae..

I had hundreds or possibly thousands in my 75. The only bummer is that they tend to all spawn at once... a big milky mess
