This is so cool. I was thinking it would be fun to breed corals in captivity.

"If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.... There is magic in it. Let the most absent-minded men be plunged in his deepest reveries--stand that man on his legs, set his feet a-going, and he will infallibly lead you to water, if water there be in all that region."

I agree. You are welcome to join our 2007 Project DIBS Breeder challenges, we will be attempting to breed two species of coral and one species of snail/shrimp.

The snail/shrimp doesn't start until June, but the coral attempts will start in February:

2007 Breeder Challenge #1: Manicina areolata (Linnaeus, 1758)

2007 Breeder Challenge #2: Pocillopora damicornis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Eric Borneman and I will be participating in both challenges and several other Project DIBS members as well. It should be an interesting experience. Maybe we can get Jake Adams to pop in
