Doesn't look much bigger than a Seio 1500. The really low wattage is cool.

I have bought a hydor koralia 2 and was happy with it for 8 month, and then the shaft broke.(Japanese ver had ceramic shaft)
Contact Japanese support, no luck. Contacted the American support reply stops...

My point is good concept, same bad design decision (on ceramic shaft), Bad costumer service? A bit pricey.

I am currently using at least 1 of every size. They are very value priced for what they are and easy to maintain. I have enjoyed mine to the fullest. Easy to move around the glass in the tank and I actually use mine to blow off my live rock. The biggest selling point is the bucks one saves due to the low wattage. When one of mine breaks.... I throw it in the trash and order another one from Amphibious right here on TR as he is one of our sponsors. Not only do you get a good product, it is backed by personalized customer service. You can order on line and if you need advise on the product, Dick is just a phone call away. I have never regretted any of my purchases.

I have pictures of the new Koralia Evolutions next to both a Sicce Voyager and an old Koralia #1 but cannot post the pics for some reason. The new Evolutions are much smaller, more energy efficient and able to be controlled with a controller like a Reefkeeper or others. I have two Evo 1400's on a RKL at 1 minute switching intervals and drawing only 6 watts each. Big improvement!

AJ, how long have you been using your Evos?

Are you using them on a wavemaker? If so, have you had any problem with them starting backwards?

Yes they are on a Reefkeeper Lite and switching at 1 minute intervals. I have yet to witness or hear a backwards start. Some of the early models had a problem with the bushing in the prop slipping but Hydor has a free fix for this if you contact them. They have a forum on a few of the other sites I believe.

The prop is a unique design compared to their old K series and even compared to the Sicce Voyager in the above pics.

Here are a few pics first of the old K4 prop next to the Sicce Voyager, you can see the Voyager has no pitch so can rotate either way.

And here is the new Evolution next to the Voyager and you can see it is even more unique. The Evo does not have a shaft for one and it has those fins which I suppose are what makes it run forward? Not sure on that:

Thanks AJ. I had heard about them starting up backwards. I'm glad it seems to have been rectified. It puts them back on my wish list.
