    Clown with popeye!

What do you suggest for treatment of a saddle clownfish with popeye?
Water parameters or good, little bit of nitrate.
Also, this has happend 2 times before same fish, same eye. (3 or 4 year old fish)
I went away after about 1 month.
But, this time it looks worse.

    What can I do?

well firs thing to understand is that popeye is symptom not the actually disease.
when it occurs in one eye, its usually caused by physical damage.
and in this case, it will usually clear itself with an few weeks.
when both eyes are affected, then its usually attributed to a fungal infection.

how long has the eye been like this (this time)
is it showing any sign of recession?

    popeye

It has only been a few days.
So, this is most likely not fatal?
It did it before about 2 years ago right after a move.
It is still eating normaly, good sign.
Thanks for your advice and help.
Waiting is the only thing I can do.. right?

    Thank You,
    Eric

at this point its probably the best thing to do..
if the fish is eating that is a real good sign.
when popeye is caused by a fungal infection one of the signs is that they will stop eating.

i don't want to make a specific recommendation, but i will say that if it was my fish, i would let it go for a week or so as long as its still eating and acting healthy

    worst yet

My saddle clown is still eating & acting healthy.
But, now it's eye is 3 times larger & it is a silvery/clear balloon.
Take a look at the new pic and tell me what you guys think.
Anything else I should do? Or just wait?

    yeah thats rough...
i am familiar with the condition, and to my knowledge as long as it is eating and acting healthy they will be fine.

now other than it being physical damage it could be an infection. you might want to do some research on something called primafix, that might help ya.. but im not sure.

wow, never really had a popeye problem that bad but quaretining the fish is the first step. for pop eye frequent water changes and a product called furazone green works great. i onece cared for a queen angle with a popped eye that burst. i had him in my quarentine tank for 2 months. the eye never fully healed but the fish recovered and was very health. ate like a pig inother words.
