My Blue Banded Coral Shrimp FINALLY appears...

FOUR WEEKS after I put him in the tank, I have finally seen my Blue Banded Coral Shrimp. I didn't see a lot of him, just a pincer going in and out from this small to medium sized cave, but enough to finally verify he is indeed alive!

So the good news is, he's not fish food. Any ideas how to get this shy little guy out in the open?

I wonder if *HE* ate my feather duster?

Hah. If I had a picture, it would be a fraction of his claw moving around from outside the hole, and would likely be blurry, since I don't have the right lens. What I need to figure out now is how to lure him out of his cave (if he's still in there) so I can see more and get photos for ya.

Maybe you could start by placing a piece of food near his cave and moving it a bit further away each time you feed. It it might train him to come out to eat.

Hey now... I have seen him ONCE in four weeks! It was like a shooting star event. Even if my camera was on and sitting by the tank, he would have been gone by the time I even tried.

Saw it again today for a split second after my Saturday water change. Just the claw, reaching around the corner for a second...

I got a firefish yesterday that found his hole, I am hoping (fingers crossed) that he is evicted and gets out in the open soon!

The only time I can see my Banded Coral Shrimp is in the middle of the night. I sometimes leave for work at 3:00am and I usually see him out and about looking for food. I have tried to train it to come out by feeding later at night and then slowly feeding earlier and earlier. I can usually get a glimpse of him at feeding time but for the most part he is nocturnal.
