    Splitting phytoplankton

I started a culture of phytoplankton from algae disks on last wednesday so it has been about 10 days. the culture started getting darker and darker but its been 10 days and it isn't as dark as it should be to split. I can still sort of see the light through the phytoplankton. What should i do, split it now or wait a few days?
    Thanks
    Kyle

yes split it before it crashes from lack of nutrients. there is no harm if you split it early but your cultures can crash from leaving it too long. though i heard people leaving it for a really long time.

short memories is a result of hanging out in chemistry class too long trying to meet those mythical hot chicks. i hung out in home economics where there were plenty of cooking and and 99% girl enrollment. i had a monopoly while you sniffed chemicals and have hallucinations surrounded by nerds. lol
