    Chaetomorpha spp.

ok so for anyone who hasnt seen a red sea max hang on back style filtration system.. it looks like this ..

    images.jpg

now i would like to if i can add some Chaetomorpha spp. into here , thing is i wont have a light over it directly and am concerned it wont get enough to stay alive ....

the filtration system is joined to the back of the tank and shares a comon piece of glass that makes up the back wall of the tank

the glass is dyed , so my theory is .. dye provides no luminecent resistance all uv should pass through and i have quite alot of lighting in my main part ... shouldnt enough pass through to give the Chaetomorpha spp. what it needs ?

my only concern that this might not work is that maybe with a build up of coralline etc it coul block too much of the uv ... i have good access and could always reguarly scrape ....

the place i was tihnking of putting it is just after the skimmer the water has to flow up and over a divider into the heater section .... i can trap it in the upstream part just after the skimmer ...
    whats your thoughts ?>

Chaeto doesn't need a lot of light but don't think it would survive without a little light. Is there a way you could install a small LED light over the chaeto?
