I've read that 3-4 hours a day is all your corals need. Past that the lights are for your viewing pleasure.
I was wondering how long my lights should be on.
I was running them 6 am to 10 am, and then 4 pm to 9 pm. I just changed it, to 8 am to 10 am, and 4 pm to 8 pm. Guess they are running up the bill.
This is what I am running. All the light are on one timer.

yea i had always tried to shoot for about 4-6 hours personally but there is a point each day where beyond that its wasting electricity. many make those hours the times when they are getting home from work or what not so things can be enjoyed when you are around the most. additionally sumplimental or smaller more effectient lights can be used for occasional viewing outside thee normal times.
