    Cleaning Decorations

I was wondering, I just recently took down a 30 gallon fresh water tank, and opened a 90 gallon fresh. I need to clean the decorations that where in the tank. Could I throw them in my dishwasher, without soap of coarse? I am worried about soap residue. Don't wanna kill all the new fish I bought, because I thought I was doing something smart.

    Thank you.

I'd soak them in a bucket of bleach water, rinse good and then soak them in a bucket of water with dechlorinator and you should be good to go.

If its just plastic plants I would do the bleach water. If you're talking things like the painted porcelain ornaments....not sure if I'd bleach them...they may lose color. What kind of decorations are we talking about?

Sorry guys. Never got an e-mail someone responded. As to answer saltydawg's question, I have both. I have some plastic tree's, and plastic breeding grass. But I also have some porcelain piece's,

I've never cleaned porcelain ornaments before so I'm not any help there.

The bleach water should work on porcelain and it shouldn't fade the color if you do like a cup of bleach in a gallon of water.
