Have you tried re-directing the flow of water to help keep the slime from forming? It doesn't like moving water. If that doesn't work I would try a dose of Red Slim Remover, followed by a water change, followed by leaving the lights out for a few days and see if you can break the cycle that way. I have not heard of tangs cyano removers.

thought you would like to know tried the natural way to fight thr red slime in my tank I went to reefcleaners.org and ordered some inverts that eat the slime and the one that stood out is the stripped leg hermit crab ,I bought 3 they were about 3 1/2 in across the shell top cost 3$ ea along with varius snals and in three days they tore up my 75 gal tank and devoured that slime my rock an most of the sand witch is 3" in deep is almost pure white
highly recommend this site for inverts and they came eager to get in the tank ,I have purched from alot of places and this site beats them all . after acclimation all critters are alive an well if you have a red slime problem try the natural way to clean it chems dont always work Cheers

That's good to hear. What else did you order for clean up ? Perhaps it was the whole package that did the magic for you
