Forum Re-Activation Notice

Hey guys,

I am just wondering about a couple of things.

1) The forums WERE closed when the blog system was introduced right>? Or did i misunderstand some posts a while ago?

2) If 1 is true, was there a noticeable decrease in activity when the forums were deactivated?

3) When the forums were re-activated, was there a notice or email sent out to all TR members informing them of the change?

I am just asking becuase i did not like the blog system, i found it much easier to use the forum layout to look at others progress and find certain times during their build.

I know becuase of the change in the system (or what i understood to be a change in the system...), i lost interest in learning a knew style of reefing forum-ing and stopped being active (also due somewhat to a decrease in available hobby time).

Just saying, if there wasn't a notice sent out about forums being reactivated, maybe we could get some activity and old members back by sending out a Mass Email to all TR members.


Just some thought becuase i want to be able to log into TR and read up on billions of new posts, just like old times....

Hey Josh,

The forums were never de-activated, the blogs were just added. I'll have to ask Rob about sending out mass emails, I don't know how to do that but it is a good idea!

lol, well that sucks.

I could've sworn that the forums went down when the blogs started. Either that or the forums went dead because everyone was using the blogs.

Either way, i was just curious as to whats up with the activity (or lack-thereof) on the site

I want to get back into a more active role in this forum but I didn't think anyone else wanted to do it by looking at the dates of the last threads.

agreed, but im just saying, your other post said you stumbled upon a question when you checked back to see if the forums were active again...

So why not send out a group email asking for project updates and welcoming everybody back... It can't hurt :s

If not, at least remove this thread... This is why i stopped coming around the forums, confused me at least...

These types of forums DO have a way to send mass emails to all members.. the issue is members that joined 5 years ago, like you josh, might not have the same email as is listed on the site.

I am looking forward to getting everything running again
