Amphibious Having Eye Surgery

Please keep Dick (Amphibious) in your thoughts and prayers. He is having eye surgery to repair a Macular Hole in his Retina on March 5th in Palm Beach Gardens. The surgery, while delicate, is pretty routine. The recovery regimen is the hardest part. He has to sit in a HEAD DOWN position 23 hours a day for 14 days. Yes, you read that right, he cannot read, be on the computer or text for those two weeks. Unattended, the hole would lead to an increased area of blurred vision and eventually to blindness. He is also going to be unable to drive for 2 months after the surgery.

Wow! You've had a lot going on lately and now throw this in the mix. It's gonna be a tough couple weeks but you're a tough 'ol bird and I believe you got the strength to come out on top. Thoughts and prayers go out to you! And when you're able to get back on the computer, you better chime in so we know you're ok...Deal?

I talked to Dick yesterday and his surgery went well. The hardest thing is keeping his head down. He even has to sleep this way which means sleeping on his stomach with his head hanging off the edge of the bed and supported on a special chair.

Sorry for the slow response guys. I was out of town at a training class and they kept us working from 8 AM-11PM every day. I was beat at the end of the day.

Amp is doing good. Right now the biggest problem is he isn't allowed to drive and with them having their exchange student daughter that is a real inconvenience.

I talked to Dick the other day and he is back to driving! It is really fortunate that they caught this when they did, if left untreated he could have lost his sight. But, with the surgery his prognosis is very good!

I haven't heard from Amp in a couple weeks. I know that their year with their exchange daughter is winding down (as is ours) so I bet he is driving her all over!

Talked to Dick a couple weeks ago. His eye is doing fine and things are pretty much back to normal. They are going to be hosting another exchange student in starting in August!
