    New to the Reef

    Hello All!

First post on the reef! I found this site when I was doing a little research for my new sump. I have been reefing for about three years now and aside from the up's and downs, I LOVE it. It is a hobby that I hope to pass down to my little girl one day. Right now she is just into fish watching, but it's a start.
I look forward to the advice I'm bound to receive here.

Thanks for the welcomes! My current tank is a Fifty Five gallon Sea Clear that I have slowly been piecing together over the last few years. I have always been into fish keeping, but mostly on the fresh water side. Salt water always seemed to expensive until one day I just decided to take the plunge. I started out like any newbie with to little light, to little flow and not enough filtration. But have learned a lot along the way. I now have a mated pair of percula clown fish, Rainsford goby and a Yellow Tang. I also have an assortment of hermit crabs and Emerald crabs for cleaning up the tank along with two fire shrimp. I have tried to keep the fish load light and may introduce a couple more small fish, but an not sure yet.
As for the coral, I have just a random array of pieces that I liked and thought would look good in my tank. There are a couple colonies of pulsing Zenia's Blue and pink. I have a really pretty green Candy cane that I bought with only two heads and now have upwards of Twelve! Some star polyps and snow flake polyps. Couple different Zoas (these things are like weeds) My pride and joy though has got to be my Dendro and Spiral whip Coral. I love these two pieces and take great care of these two. I also have a Anemone that the clowns live in. Not sure what kind it is, I got this as a package deal.
All of these Coral have stared out as frags and I have SLOWLY been growing them. If you guys have any other questions, just ask! I enjoy talking about my tank!

    Hey man,

feel free to start your own thread in the members tank gallery section. You can use that to ask questions about your tank, talk about your progress building the tank, and post pictures to show it off.

    Looking forward to seeing it
