Ah Mike, I am sorry. That really stinks.
It's been a pretty rough week. I missed my last water change and my husbandry has gone to hell over the last week. Tuesday night, I got home from work at about 11pm, after lights out, came back to the office and checked on everything, then went to bed. As exhausted as I was, it was strange that I found myself wide awake at 1am... so I went down to look at the reef under the moonlights for a while. I was there for about 5 minutes before I got up and stepped on something slimy. I turned on the light and it was my Pink Bar Goby. He was still moving, but by then, there was no coming back. I got him back into the tank and he darted into the rocks and I haven't seen him since. While I was there I looked around the tank and found the dried husk of my Carpenters Flasher Wrasse. Both of these fish have been with me for over a year, so this is very upsetting. Why did this happen? Because I was too lazy to put the egg-crate tops back on the tank before I went to bed. ...Sometimes life makes you feel like you can put things on the back burner, but you can't. These guys need our attention, even if it means we don't get much sleep.
Ah Mike, I am sorry. That really stinks.
